Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we close out February, we are quickly approaching the middle of the third marking period. Please continue to check in on your students and monitor their grades and attendance.
Next week marks our large school spirit event of the second semester: Blue and Grey. Please encourage your children to participate in spirit days by dressing up in the attire each day and we hope to see many of them (and you!) at our Blue and Grey event next Friday at the middle school.
Have a great weekend, Dr. McCann |

On March 11-14, students in Grade 11 will be administered the New Jersey Graduation Performance Assessment (NJ GPA). The NJGPA includes content aligned to the grade 10 New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) in ELA, and the NJSLS in Algebra 1 and Geometry. Effective for the Class of 2025, the NJGPA is the primary state graduation assessment. Make up testing will occur March 17-21 for students who are absent. Students who need to test during the makeup window will miss class time to test. Therefore, we encourage all students to get a good night's rest, eat a balanced breakfast, and arrive at school on-time with a fully charged Chromebook. |

During the week of March 3, 2025, Northern Burlington will begin the process of developing a new Mission Statement. By working with a company called ThoughtExchange we will have students, staff, and the community respond to several questions. ThoughtExchange is a platform that allows participants to respond to questions and then allows others to rate the thoughts or ideas that have been posted. This will give us a true understanding of not only ideas but how others feel about these ideas. Later in the Spring, we will set up forums to discuss the results as well as the projected next steps in updating the Northern Burlington Mission Statement |

What’s love got to do with it??? An article in Verywellmind titled ”10 Ways to Enjoy Valentine’s Day Solo”, by Arlin Cuncic, discusses how Valentine’s Day, if you are single, can really make you feel like you are missing out on something amazing. You might even be feeling like you are the only person without a partner. The article has good news: “There are plenty of ways to distract yourself(and maybe even forget about the holiday altogether!)” Teens especially might need a reality check that certainly it just feels like everyone has someone but you, and there are even good reasons to not be in a relationship sometimes. But here are some tips to make the day easier to bear: Ignore Valentine’s Day-it’s just one day out of the whole year Be Kind to Yourself-make it a day to treat yourself extra special Be Your Own Secret Admirer-buy your own favorite candy Avoid Love Triggers-like love songs and romantic movies Make Other Plans-play your favorite video game or order out, go for a hike Plan a Date with Other Single Friends-play games, watch a good movie Reach out to someone-you never know who else might be feeling a little lonely Brighten Someone Else’s Day-you could even become a secret admirer Keep Up Your Daily Routine-this helps it feel like any other day
This article could be a spring board for discussion with your students or teens. For the full article visit verywellmind.com. |

Not sure if you ordered your student a yearbook this year? Here are three ways to check: Go to your email and search for ‘Jostens Order Confirmation’. Be sure the email/purchase date is from this school year (2024 - 2025). Go to www.jostens.com. Log in with the email you believe you used to purchase the yearbook. Click your name, then ‘Orders’ to see lifetime purchases for that account. Click ‘Receipt’ next to any purchase to verify that the order was for a yearbook and not an ad or other celebratory product. Again, please verify that the purchase date is from this school year (2024 – 2025). Click here to use the Jostens Order Lookup system. You will need to select our School and then enter your Student’s First Name, Last Name, and Grade. PLEASE NOTE: The system searches for exact matches. If you may have ordered under a child’s nickname, i.e. Ben instead of Benjamin, please try both names in the search fields.
Thank you so much for your support of our school and yearbook program. |
