Welcome! As the At Risk Counselor, it is my goal to help students develop healthy coping skills, make positive lifestyle choices, and avoid substance abuse problems. Students are protected by federal law, which grants them confidentiality (excluding thoughts or attempts of suicide, reports of abuse or neglect, or threats of wanting to harm someone else). Students looking to make an appointment should visit the counseling office.

Referrals to the At Risk Counselor can be made by anyone. All referrals are confidential. 

Students may seek support from the At Risk Counselor for a variety of additional issues including-

  • Substance Use including alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs

  • Suicidal thoughts or self-harm

  • Depression or anxiety

  • Relationships

  • What is a healthy relationship?

  • Recognizing a dysfunctional relationship.

  • Developing standards in a relationship.

  • Changes in family (divorce, separation, deployment, death, illness)

  • Self-esteem
