Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to share that our first round of juniors who are parking on campus were issued their parking decals this week. This is just one of many efforts we are making to evaluate systems and ensure that we are doing what is best for students, even if it looks different from what we have done in the past. We are grateful for all of the feedback that parents and students continue to provide to support our systems here at Northern and look forward to continued progress going forward.
As a reminder, this week, we will close out the second marking period, which also marks the end of the first semester. Attendance and grades in our semester courses will close and be locked in shortly. Second semester courses are starting soon. Please ensure your students are submitted any last minute assignments prior to gradebooks closing and that they are ready to move to a new semester course, if that applies to them. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns. Dr. McCann

In a continued effort to expedite student drop off, we are going to be opening an additional door in the mornings. Parents/family members can use the same entrance off Mansfield Road and should remain in the right lane to drop off. However, students will be welcome to enter the building using either the 300 door (near the West Gym), our current drop off point, or the 400 door (near the child development room). We are hoping this additional door will allow more students a shorter walk into the building and out of the cold. Students may enter these doors until 7:25 am (they will sign in late after 7:20 at the kiosks). After this time, students should enter through the main entrance. |

Looking back at last year’s Clinical Corner(feels funny to say that!) I wanted to practice what I preach so I took five minutes and answered the reflection questions. What I found was that it enabled me to have a self-aware start to the New Year. I don’t have to figure everything out, because the prompts reminded me that I actually know a lot about what works for me already. And now I just have to be consistent in doing those things that help me feel my best. I bet this would be the same for you and your students/teens. So that being said, I just want to give you a little assignment for the next two weeks until the next Clinical Corner comes out. I want you to really pay attention to what you are consistently doing…is it checking social media, going to Wawa every day, putting yourself down? I just want you to jot a couple notes down somewhere, maybe easiest to do in your phone. And just ask yourself, are these the important things that I want or need to be consistent with? Chances are some are and some aren’t. But it will help you be aware of what changes you need to make. And if you can be so consistent with some things that don’t really make much difference in your life, can you commit to trading them out for things that will? |
