To support this project, we are looking for donations. These donations can be “in kind” or cash. Thanks in advance for everyone’s support. | | The Middle School Fun Night is this evening, Friday, March 21, from 6:30-8:30 pm at the middle school. There will be dancing, games in the gym, and more! Students should dress casually and wear sneakers to play in the gym. Tickets were sold in advance and no tickets will be sold at the door. The event is for Northern Middle School students only. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. Please do not arrive early. There is no place to secure valuables, so leave any items, like handbags, at home. The event will end at 8:30 pm. We ask that rides arrive promptly. To facilitate pickup, seventh grade students should be picked up at the bus lot accessed via Island Road, and eighth grade students should be picked up at the main entrance accessed via Mansfield Road-East. During pick up, students will not be allowed to leave the sidewalk until their ride is curbside or adults come to the sidewalk to escort the students back to the car. We do not want unaccompanied students walking/running through the dark parking lot as cars are arriving. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. | | On March 5th, Northern Burlington launched an initiative to update our Mission Statement. In addition to responding to a few questions, the format asks the participants to rate the responses that are submitted by other individuals.
If you haven't participated yet, please use the below link to complete the ThoughtExchange which should take no more than 5 minutes. https://tejoin.com/scroll/422790290
If you have already submitted the form, you can log back in and continue to rate the responses you have not previously seen. If you use the same device to access the Exchange that you used previously, it should take you directly to the ratings. If you use a different device, you will have to resubmit the initial questions. We will be closing the ThoughtExchange at the end of next week. Thank you in advance for your time and participation. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us and will be directly used to update the Northern Burlington Mission Statement. | | Senior Citizen Prom The annual Senior Citizen Prom will be held on Saturday, May 3rd from 1pm - 4pm. | | Spring is arriving in a few days! Which means it is a popular time to “spring clean”. This ritual is often good for our mental health as well as our living space! Even for teens, it can be a reset if they clean out and organize their room or workspace. Spring cleaning can offer a sense of control and empowerment, which can help reduce anxiety and depression. It may also allow us to feel a sense of accomplishment with the tasks we are able to complete. In order to avoid being overwhelmed, start with small tasks first. You might find that you are then motivated to tackle other tasks you have been putting off all winter. Here are some quick tips to share with your students/teen to help them benefit from some spring cleaning as well: Set realistic goals Don’t be afraid to ask for help Make it enjoyable-play music, listen to a podcast, invite a friend for company Take breaks-make sure to have good snacks handy to keep energy up Get outside-if you can’t do this, at least open some windows while you clean
