Wednesday, November 13th - 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (IN PERSON) To sign up for conferences, follow this LINK to a Google Sheet where you can view each teacher's individual sign-up links. Please note that you will need to schedule appointments with each individual teacher that you would like to meet with. Next to each teacher's name, you will see three links to sign-up, one for each of the three conference windows. When you click the link, you may need to navigate to the correct date. You can do this easily by clicking the "Jump to the next available date" option, as pictured below. If a date is showing no availability, that teacher's schedule may be full. Conferences are offered on a first come, first serve basis. If that is the case, you are welcome to reach out individually with any questions or concerns you may have. Once you schedule your appointment(s), you will receive email confirmations with room locations for in-person appointments and Google Meet links for virtual appointments. Thinking of the many stressors that military families may face, it seemed helpful to include here a breathing technique developed by the Navy Seals that anyone, at any age, can use anywhere. It’s called box breathing and it’s broken into four equal parts, each for a count of four. To touch on it here, one would clear air from the lungs and keep them empty for a count of four, inhale through the nose for a count of four, hold the breath there for four and exhale through your nose for a count of four. It can be helpful to picture the sides of a box when performing it. According to the author of this article, a trained Seal, Mark Divine, reports that it “will make you very alert and grounded, ready for action.” It sounds like it would be good to practice when feeling stressed or scattered, in order to gather your focus. For the full article click here. | | Is your child in need of academic support? Members of the High School National Honors Society provide tutoring to all Northern Burlington students. Middle School students can attend tutoring after school on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Greyhound Learning Center. Interested students simply need to sign up during their lunch period.
