The Student Leaders are hosting a Friday Fun Night, tonight, Friday, March 15 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. The event will be held at the Middle School and includes music and dancing in the cafetorium, and games and activities in the gym. Dress is casual and students must wear sneakers to participate in the activities in the gym. The event is open to Northern Burlington Middle School students only and tickets were sold in advance only. Students who did not purchase a ticket in advance are not able to attend since no tickets will be sold at the door.
Students must be picked up promptly at 8:30 pm. To alleviate traffic, there will be different pick up sites for 7th and 8th grade. 7th grade should be picked up from the bus entrance, accessed via North Island Road. 8th grade should be picked up from the main entrance, accessed via Mansfield Road - East. Parents should plan to drive around to the curb or park their car and walk to the curb to pick up their children. For safety reasons, we will not have the students enter the parking lot without an adult to escort them. Thank you. |

On March 28 (the day before spring break) we will conduct a schoolwide community service project where we will be making bagged lunches for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). There are a variety of tasks in this project and we hope to involve as many students as possible with assignments ranging from sandwich making, to making flatware bundles, to packing boxes for delivery.
To support this project, we are looking for donations. These donations can be “in kind” or cash. Please see the link to the sign up genius below if you wish to make a donation: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0949ADAA2FA3FF2-48501711-nbmiddle
Thanks in advance for everyone’s support. |

Come watch Matilda and all of her classmates rebel against the injustices of this horrible school and find out what happens when she tries to make things right.
The show will run March 22 and 23 at 7 pm at the Middle School. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors and are on sale starting at 6:15 (Students may use five NB3 tickets to purchase a ticket to the musical, but this must be done in advance, listen to announcements for instructions.)

One of the most effective ways of coping with stress is by using your breath. And the best part is you always have it with you! Here are 4 breathing techniques to try:
Breathing in Affirmations: Breathe in and say “I am…” Breathe out and say “calm” or any other word that would be helpful at that moment.
Breathing in the Positive, Breathing out the Negative. Example: Breathe in Peacefulness, Breathe out Stress….Breathe in Confidence, Breathe out Doubt.
Spell your Name: With each exhale say a letter of your name until it is completed. The longer your name, the more relaxed you might be!
Paced Breathing: Count to three on your inhale, count to 6 on your exhale. Or use any number combination as long as the exhale is longer. “Breath is the power behind all things. Your breath doesn’t know how old you are; it doesn’t know what you can’t do.” -Tao Porchon-Lynch |
